First of all, I would just like to say that I would be the first one to admit I spend too much time on the internet. Far too much. And if I’m not on the internet then I’m watching TV, even today when I went to the gym I was watching TV! Not so much on the rowing machine, I can’t get the sound on it and the rowing movement hardly makes it easy to keep a steady eye on the screen, although I did manage quite well! 😉
The reason for this confession, is that I have recently wondered how I manage to spend so much time hooked to the wi-fi like a fish. I go on Lonely Hotel – something I shall talk about more later – but although I always seem to have it open I don’t do huge amounts of writing, although it is substantial. I also have pidgin open from the minute my laptop warms up, (I replaced MSN as soon as I found out about Pidgin, and I’m glad I did!) where I talk to my interweb buddies and the occasional friend who decides to pop on for a bit. I go on chickensmoothie.com most days as well, but only for five minutes or so, and any other sites that my friends have tried to get me into just haven’t held my interest, although FanFiction was their greatest gift to me, which brings me onto the BMT forums. I do go on these yes; sporadically. I might go on for an hour, I might go on for a few minutes, it’s very interchangeable. I also do my writing, maybe once a week for half an hour or so? Now that is my problem. I go on for hours each day, and all I seem to be doing is chatting and a bit of RP on Lonely Hotel. If I get extra time, I might write a bit, or do a bit of homework. I think the busy and useless merge until I can no-longer detirmine the excuses from the self-inflicted insults.
